Clothes bags ready for donation

Donate your old clothes to us for a fantastic cause - and if you're a new customer, we'll even collect them free of charge!

Our Blackburn storage centre is taking part in the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge, so we are collecting bags of old clothes to donate to the hospice's charity shops.

If you have some clothes you'd like to donate, we have bags available on reception at our Blackburn and Burnley storage centres, or we can bring them along with us when we come to do a free pickup if you are new customer moving items into one of our centres in those locations.

All kinds of clothing can be accepted, including unwearable items if the bags are marked up as rags.

A free collection service is offered to every Store First customer who chooses to store items with us for a minimum of eight weeks.

If you take advantage of this service, you can hand over your clothes donation bags when our teams arrive at your home to start moving your items into storage.

And don't worry if you haven't packed them up in the specified Pendleside Hospice bags, as we will happily collect any kinds of bags and sort them accordingly to be donated to the hospice.

Store First marketing manager Alison King said: "Our Blackburn and Burnley centre teams are doing a fantastic job of raising money for Pendleside Hospice and the donation bags are another great way for us to do our bit.

"Many of our customers take out storage during a house move. Whether they're in between properties so need short-term storage, or relocating or downsizing so require long-term storage solutions, they're bound to have some unwanted clothes to be donated to charity.

"Actually getting to a charity shop can be an extra hassle in the middle of a house move when you're tired, stressed and busy, so our storage teams are happy to be able to lighten your load by taking donation bags off your hands to make sure they go to the right place."

Pendleside Hospice's Corporate Challenge sees businesses from across the region pitted against each other to raise as much money as possible towards the ongoing running of the hospice.

This year, Store First is participating in the challenge for the first time, going head to head with sister company Business First in the fundraising competition.

To donate bags of clothes, simply drop them off at either our Blackburn or Burnley storage centres. Alternatively, contact one of our storage teams about taking out storage if required, then you can hand over bags when you take advantage of the free collection serviced offered by all Store First centres.
