Drop off Mission Christmas gifts at Store First Manchester

Store First's Manchester storage centre is an official drop off point for the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas gift appeal.

The storage facility, located at Trafford Park, is asking customers, local businesses and residents to donate new, unwrapped gifts for children of all ages, which will be distributed to disadvantaged children in the local area.

Set up and run by children's charity Cash for Kids, the Mission Christmas campaign helps children experiencing poverty to have a present to unwrap on Christmas morning. 

According to recent reports, one in three children live in poverty.

Gifts for children of all age groups can be dropped off at Store First and other local drop off points. Suggestions for gifts for different age groups include:

• 0-3 years - teddies, musical toys, rattles, play mats
• 3-5 years - cars, dolls, jigsaws, dressing up items, playdoh, colouring books and pencils
• 5-7 years - lego, arts and crafts sets, skipping ropes, jewellery sets, board games and action figures
• 7-9 years - footballs, board games, remote control toys, stationery sets
• 9-12 years - board games, makeup sets, nail varnish

A spokesperson for our self-storage Manchester centre said: "The Mission Christmas appeal is a fantastic way everyone can get involved in helping vulnerable children in their own community. We all want to treat loved ones at this time of year, but it's important to spare a thought for those who will be having a very different Christmas to our own.

"We are pleased to be able to do our own small bit towards helping this amazing campaign. 

Already, our customers have been so generous and we encourage anyone out Christmas shopping to add an extra gift to their basket and drop it off with us - it will go a long way towards cheering up a very deserving child on Christmas Day."

Mission Christmas is the biggest annual toy appeal in the UK. The charity works with social workers, teachers and emergency services, who nominate families in crisis to be supported by the appeal. 

New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at Store First Manchester every day until Tuesday, 17th December.

Store First is open daily, 8am until 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am - 4pm on Sundays.
