Corporate Social Responsibility at Store First
Ellesmere Port Youth Football Club play their football at the Whitby Social Club, in Ellesmere Port and are the newest addition to an ever-growing grassroots football sponsorship scheme taken up as part of Store First’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
Ellesmere Port Youth currently play in the Carlsberg West Cheshire League and are sitting in a very respectable 7th position in the league.
Store Manager of Store First’s Ellesmere Port storage centre, Chris Hawker, is a former player at semi-professional level, for Ellesmere Port FC; he made a very respectable 45 appearances between 2000 and 2003, so the support of grassroots football is a subject particularly close to his heart.
He said of the deal: “I couldn’t be happier that not only are Store First making a fantastic contribution to grassroots football throughout the North West, but that we are also able to do it in my home town, for the youth branch of the club I used to play for.
“It’s vital that successful companies help out local football at grassroots level, both due to the lack of official funding a lot of the clubs receive, and because it may well be, that in 10/15 years’ time, money from Store First was directly responsible for helping to develop the national team’s next star – the next Wayne Rooney or Alan Shearer for example.”
Store First sponsors a variety of local youth football teams in and around the areas its self-storage centres are based in. To find out how Store First might be able to help your youth football team, contact your local storage centre, today.
