Premiership footballers’ favourite Burnley business expands

A Burnley family business loved by Premiership footballers is celebrating its ten-year anniversary by expanding their specialist picture framing and 3D casting services. Serendipity Castings, set up a decade ago by Tony and Bernice Walne, was the first company in the area to offer baby castings. They have now expanded their range to include bespoke 3D whole hand and foot castings of babies, children and adults, pet prints and more, as well as a bespoke picture framing service.

Castings are mounted on a range of plinths and frames, with framing and presentation all finished in-house. Jewellery is the latest side of the business to take off, with Tony and Bernice’s son Adam coming on board to expertly handcraft bespoke pieces in fine silver from supplied prints. After working from home around full-time jobs for many years, Bernice and Tony are now taking a more hands-on approach than ever and gearing up to open a shop on Standish Street in Burnley.

Making the Most of Burnley Self Storage

For the past 18 months they have made the most of storage and business facilities at the nearby Store First facility on Liverpool Road – a resource they’ll continue to use once the new premises launch. Tony said: “We took out storage at Store First for our materials when the garage was full, we met a rep at a networking event and thought we’d see what we could get for a tenner – and we couldn’t believe how many services we could access for free.”

“Some mums and dads like to meet us here for their casting rather than at their home – everyone’s different so it’s great to have that option. Plus, we get 24-hour access which we really utilise, especially when making deliveries on special occasions – I was here on Christmas Day collecting something I’d forgotten, where else could you do that?”

“We also love the fact we can use our dedicated Store First postal address for the business too, which is really handy.”

Serendipity Castings service customers up and down the M62 corridor and other areas – with some of their more famous clients including Manchester United’s Michael Carrick and other well known Premiership footballers, as well as a British Boxing Champion. Bernice added: “We’re happy to travel anywhere within reason to deliver that personal service which is so important for this kind of business – families trust us to create something spectacular for that special occasion and we handle every project with the care, sensitivity and high quality service it deserves.”
