We cornered Michael, our Blackburn storage store manager as the latest subject of our Meet The Team series. He answered a series of questions to help us get to know him better, and find out more about his role at Store First. Read on to find out more!
What’s your full name and job title?
Michael Webster – store manager, Blackburn
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve had?
Football referee at the weekends.
If you could swap jobs with one person in the company, who would it be and why?
The main man himself Toby Whittaker, so I could drive a Range Rover for the day haha!
What 3 words do you think best describe Store First?
Your second home!
What 3 words do you think best describe you?
Loyal, hardworking and dedicated.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever had to do here?
Climb over a customer’s shed to lift the sofa over the roof in order to take it out of their property!
What’s your favourite film and film quote?
The Godfather – "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer’.’
What’s your proudest moment at Store First?
Becoming a store manager from starting off as an apprentice.
What is an interesting, random fact about yourself?
Once trialled for the England u21 pool team and finished top 10 in the region.
Do you have a work nickname? What is it?
Mike.
What’s your most embarrassing moment at work?
Knocking on an open door and walking into a property to begin a removal to then find out I was in the wrong house!
What’s your favourite place to travel to?
Spain.
How do you define success?
Success is all about happiness.
If a film was made of your life, who would you want to play you and why?
Morgan Freeman – that man’s voice can make a story about paint drying on a wall sound interesting!
If you could be any person in history for a day, who would it be and why?
Jurgen Klopp – so that Liverpool can sign some half decent defenders.
If you could interview any person in history, who would it be and why?
Steven Gerrard, regarding the 2005 Champions League Final.
If you could only drink one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Coors Light – You couldn’t walk into a pub and order orange juice could you!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Chicken Balti curry – if you’re ill? Have a curry. If you’re at the pub? Have a curry. If you’re cold? Have a curry!
If you could be an animal for a day, what animal would you be and why?
A cat – eat, drink and sleep - seems a very hard life!
If you were stuck on an island and could only take 3 things with you, what would they be and why?
- A crate of beer
- A bottle of whisky
- A boat to get me off the island!

Small family who look after one another – especially close to the grandparents who I treat like a mum & dad.

Jimmy Fallon apparently! Took a quiz and the answer was him??
What is your guilty pleasure?
A woman with a Scouse accent.
What’s your favourite TV show?
Family Guy.
What’s the oldest thing in your fridge?
Bottle of chilli & garlic sauce.
Do you play any instruments or have any talents or hobbies?
Gym, boxing, playing pool.
Do you have any weird phobias?
Cutting toenails – goes right through me!
If you could choose only one superpower, what superpower would you choose?
Invisibility.
